The Manager of Staff Experience will be the lead support to all of our staff to ensure job performance and job satisfaction. This leadership team member will provide regular observations and evaluations of all instructors and serve as a liaison for the staff to the Leadership Team. This role will report to the Camp Director.

The 3 Bottom Lines for the Manager of Staff Experience 

I. Safety First

Oversee safety & risk management of all staff, bringing feedback and observations to the Leadership Team with
solutions to talk through.
Work with Leadership Team and staff to ensure safety protocols are followed in day-to- day operation.
Aid in resolving high level concerns brought from the Leadership Team and parents to ensure safety and quality
experience of all staff.

II. Stellar Programs

Daily observation of staff performance both in program and in groups to meet performance goals of quality and
creativity, both for Avid4, CMC, and the staff themselves.
Ensures top program quality of the Leadership Development program.
Create and execute consistent time-off schedule for all staff as agreed upon by Camp Director and Director of Resident Camps.

III. Passionate Staff

Serve as liaison between staff and leadership to ensure cohesion, communication, and happiness.
Observe staff performance, conduct evaluations, and provide feedback.
Recognizes and rewards staff, implements staff games, and schedules during transitions.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 21 years of age, Bachelor's degree in science, education, or related field preferred.
  • Driver's License, WFA, and CPR minimum certifications.
  • Experience in a summer camp setting is preferred, with experience in at least 1 of the following: climbing, biking, kayaking, canoeing, or backpacking.
  • 1-3 years of Camp or Program Administration experience preferred.
  • Experience in managing staff and providing constructive feedback.
  • Strong sense of organization and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle high-stress environments and handle variety of tasks.


  • Pre-Season Training: Leadership Training; April 27 April 29; All Staff Training: June 6-16, 2018
  • Camp Dates: June 17- July 29 (Windy Peak); June 17-August 12 (Mt. Evans)
