Avid4 Adventure empowers kids to choose an active, outdoor lifestyle. The Dining Hall Manager runs the procedure and program for the camper while in the Dining Hall. They work with the leadership and staff to manage the coordination of set-up, clean-up, dining hall themes, and managing the DH space to deliver the best possible experience for the campers and staff. This role will report to the Assistant Director.

The Responsibilities of the Dining Hall Manager:

I. Organization and Operations

  • Work closely with Head Chef to coordinate the specifics of special meals such as picnic dinners, guest meals, and
    cookie raids.
  • Assist in kitchen with food prep, serving, and clean-up as needed.
  • Arrange proper seating facilities keeping in mind all rules and regulations concerning safety, fire, and health
  • Coordinate serving food, seconds, attend to special needs.

II. Stellar Experience

  • Design and lead Dining Hall Theme programming with supplies, staff, and direction so all can enjoy.
  • Serve as the point of contact for all Dining Hall related requests such as cookie raids, overnights, etc.
  • Lead songs/announcements at each meal to coordinate timing of service.

III. Safety and Cleanliness

  • Promote practices that seek to reduce waste, reuse items, and recycle as much as possible.
  • Set up an adequate area for the disposal of trays, silverware, trash, glasses, and recycling, etc.
  • Oversee the sweeping and mopping of the dining hall on a daily basis.
  • Oversee the cleanliness of tables, benches, floors, ascertaining that everything is in readiness for the following

Job Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Previous experience working in food service preferred.
  • Bachelor's preferred
  • Basic CPR and First Aid certifications required.
  • Previous experience working in a kitchen.
  • Ability to handle high-stress environments and handle variety of tasks.

Pre-Season Training: June 6-16, 2018
Camp Dates: June 17-August 12
